Want to Help?

Amazing Grace Bird Rescue exists entirely on donations from people just like you that God has encouraged to give from your heart. The following are some ways that you can help us. It takes a lot of money to feed, house and provide veterinarian care four birds. Several stores in the St. Louis Metro area know us and can hold donations in the form of Gift Certificates or bought goods. Please take a look below and see what you might be willing or able to give.

Food

Amazing Grace Bird Rescue uses the following foods.  You can purchase these foods from any online store and send it directly to the rescue at the address below.  You can also visit Varietees Bird Shop  or Bird Cage Warehouse and Wild Bird Supply Co.  or Wholesale Bird and Cage .  If you visit them and purchase something for the Rescue or donate money in the form of a Gift Certificate, they will let us know and we will pick it up next time we are in the area.

Cages

It seems we always need cages.  Most of the time they are needed for our larger friends like Macaws and Cockatoos.  The cages wear out due to natural wear and tear and also due to the very sharp beaks and nails of the larger birds.   The larger birds tend to be very hard on their cages.  Sometimes the welds break or they start rusting and need to be repaired, dipped and powdercoated.  All of the dimensions given below are actual living area and do not including seed catchers, legs or stands.  Remember that larger is always better for your avian companion.  If you have a lightly used cage or you are willing to donate a new cage, please let us know.  We can pick up anywhere in the metro area right away.

Please Note: Round cages are not used.  They do not provide any corners for the bird to retreat to and can make them feel insecure.  Round cages also cause feather damage.

Foster

Another way you can help us is by fostering a bird in your home.  Sometimes we have more birds then we can house in our locations.  If you can foster a bird in your home then you will free up space for another bird in need.  Sometimes we have birds that have special needs.  They will require special time and care.  These include birds that have been injured, have plucked, need socilized and other problems.  Please see our Adoption Procedures  and fill out a foster application.  Depending on your bird experience and home situation we may be able to find a fit.
